- Chinese Character Structure

The structure information is based on the the 12 Ideographic Description Characters (IDCs) introduced in ISO 10646 and the version 3.0 of the Unicode standard, as shown in the following table. They describes ideographic character composition at the abstract level. It indicates the relative positions of the components, but does not indicate the proportions. The structure information is very useful for Chinese language learners to recognize the character composition.
